When language instruction is integrated into the authentic environment of the classroom, students connect relevant language skills to academics or vocational activities, and are therefore better able to embrace those skills and utilize them in a myriad of environments.  In addition, teachers gain insight into the language underpinnings that may impact a student's ability to access the curriculum.  SLPs can assist them in providing appropriate supports throughout their instruction which in turn, benefits all students.
